Experience:

I have 17 years of experience working with children, teens, young adults, individuals, families, and couples in a variety of settings including Youth Eastside Services, Samaritan Center, schools, YMCA, camps, Young Life, Bible Study Fellowship, and church.  I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LF60484649).  Additionally, I am Adjunct Faculty in Counselor Education at Seattle Pacific University.  I supervise and instruct school counselors in training.

While many counselors work with couples, I have a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.  I have been specifically trained to work with couples and families.  I have additional therapist education in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. Also, I  am a facilitator for Prepare/Enrich, which is a relationship assessment that is custom tailored to a couple’s relationship, and provides exercises for couples to build their relationship skills.

I work with children, teens, young adults, individuals, families and couples who need help with:

  • Premarital and  marital relationships
  • Family conflict
  • School Problems
  • ADD/ADHD
  • Depression/anxiety
  • Grief/loss
  • Substance abuse
  • Life coaching
  • Career development

I interned at Youth Eastside Services where I counseled children, teenagers, and families.  I volunteered at Samaritan where I counseled individuals, couples, and families.  I have volunteered numerous times for Camp Erin and Camp Mariposa.  These camps are supported by The Moyer Foundation and support children in distress.

My orientation for therapy comes from a “systems” perspective.  I focus on how individuals function in relationships to those around them, as well as asking about what is going on inside them.  Within this context, I examine how individuals can be separate, while also remaining connected to others.  When working with you, I will display unconditional openness, respect, and curiosity.

I have been married for 12 years.  I have two small children and a pug.  I enjoy working out at 24 hour fitness, Bible study, and reading.
