Samaritan Center, known earlier as Presbyterian Counseling Service, has long been recognized as a resource for churches and clergy -- both as part of the ongoing life of the church and in times of crisis. Our services include Consultation, Leadership Development, Conflict Management and Spiritual Formation.
Samaritan Center and Congregational Leadership Northwest (CLN) co-sponsor "STREAM" -- a group for congregational leaders led by Tony Robinson. The current group began January 12 at our Ravenna office. For more information about STREAM>
Samaritan staff members come alongside faith communities in four primary ways:
Nurturing congregational health
Strengthening church leadership
Caring for clergy and their families
Fostering collaboration among congregational members
and among church staff members
We are experienced in guiding clergy, congregations and judicatories through transitions in ways that promote growth.
Consultation may take the following forms:
Conflict Mediation
Congregational Transitions
Staff and Lay Leadership Training
Visioning and Strategic Planning
Coaching for Pastors
We also serve individual clergy and their families through counseling, consultation and career development.
Samaritan's program for Career Development and Life Planning is open to clergy and candidates for ministry, those exploring mid-career questions and those who are planning retirement.
A wide range of classes, workshops and retreat presentations are offered by Samaritan therapists for congregations and organizations.
For more information about any of these services, contact Samaritan’s President, Beverley Shrumm, at 206-527-2266.
